While a lesser known march by Sousa, ‘On Parade’ offers an exciting work-out for the trombonist in your quintet. This piece was originally inserted when Sousa orchestrated Goodwin and Stahl’s operetta ‘The Lion Tamer’. He later released/published the march in 1892 as a separate piece giving it the names of both ‘On Parade’ and ‘The Lion Tamer.’
